How to Quit Smoking
How can I stop smoking?
After quitting smoking over 10 years ago and looking back, I cannot understand why I ever smoked and why it took me over 20 years to decide to quit smoking.
If asked today, I would say it was fairly easy to quit smoking. Here is how to do it:
Find a reason to quit!
This is the most important step: Why do you want to quit? Because you
can live longer. Because you'll save money. Because your breath, your
cloths, your car, your home and you stop smelling like an ashtray.
Whatever your reasons are going to be, it's better for you and your
social life to quit smoking today.
Have some medication available for the urgent cravings!
Purchase some over the counter medication to help with the nicotine
cravings and/or consult your doctor. You may need some medication at
some point to fight the cravings. Do NOT underestimate this step.
The best day to quit? Today!
Throw your cigarettes, lighters, matches and ashtrays away. Yes, do it.
Clean your car, home and wash your cloths. Take a nice long shower.

Do NOT associate with smokers!
Stay away from smokers and cigarette smoke. Do not visit Restaurants
or Bars unless they're non-smoking environments only.
Fight the little cravings for cigarettes.
Use your medication if the cravings are too strong. Remember, it may
take approximately 10 minutes for your Quit Smoking Aid to work.
Congratulations, you are on your way to become an Ex-smoker. Follow these simple steps, request an iKwit Kit and enjoy every day you're getting healthier. Look at the Quit Smoking Timeline to see how your health improves on a daily basis.
What our visitors say
“I wouldn't have been able to quit smoking without the help of my friend Allen Polk. He gave me some Nicorette Gum in case I had some cravings. I have to admit, I was able to quit my nicotine addiction because of Allen and Nicorette Gum.”
